Our Story
Our journey began when we learned our middle child was being abused at a daycare. As the investigation progressed, our lives were uprooted. Not only were we trying to get our child the proper therapy he needed, we had to find a new daycare we could afford and where he would feel safe. There were emotional struggles at school, and we frequently missed work to help address it. Legal fees were stacking up. We found ourselves not being able to make ends meet to provide for all of our children, and the entire family was feeling the pressure.
With the struggles abuse can bring along with it, we want to help families like ours heal and move forward in their lives and learn to accept the changes and make it easier to do so. Abuse can lead to feeling alone and abandoned and make families feel unheard or misunderstood. The Howell Foundation is the steppingstone to thriving through such a tragic event.
Our mission is to provide a foundation of safety and stability for children who have endured abuse and for children in foster care, fostering their emotional, physical, and developmental well-being by working with the community to create a better environment so they can grow into resilient and confident individuals.
